Sponsorship Opportunites:
Meet Trina

Those who are adopted can frequently be asked questions about their “real” family, but while growing up, Trina didn’t realize what people were asking about. To her, her family was her real family and, having been adopted when she was only a few weeks old, she had never known any differently. Although she knew some children who grew up not knowing they were adopted until they were older, she has always known that she was adopted. The word adopted was fully embraced though and was always said with pure love. To say she’s thankful for that is an understatement. As she got older, she realized not everyone had the same journey as her. And, when she met her birth mother and brother, her family, although wary, fully supported her. While the road has had some bumps and detours along the way, it’s a journey she is happy she’s on. It’s her hope that, by being willing to share the joys, and the struggles, she’s experienced, it helps normalize being adopted and put potential fears to rest.
