Pregnancy: Knowing Your Options

Individuals of any age, ethnicity, religious affiliation, economic status, or marital status can be faced with an unplanned pregnancy.

When facing an unplanned pregnancy, you can choose one of three options:

(a) Continue the pregnancy and parent the child;
(b) Continue the pregnancy and make an adoption plan for the child;
(c) Terminate the pregnancy (abortion)

If you would like to discuss your options and learn more about the possibility of making an adoption plan, please contact the Adoption Support Centre at (306) 665-7272 or toll free at 1-866-869-2727 and our staff will find time to speak with you in person or over the phone.

We endeavour to offer you a confidential, non-judgmental support service in which we can help you safely explore your options. We will also answer questions about adoption, explain how adoption works today, help you understand your rights and your ability to control and make choices in adoption planning, and assist you with referrals to other services that may be of help to you. Also, we can connect you with the birth-parent caseworker in the Ministry of Social Services who can assist you with making an adoption plan.

Our goal at ASCS is to offer you support and information so that you can make the choice that will be right for you.
