It has been shown that children do best when they are provided the truth about their lives. It can be devastating for a child, youth, or even a young adult to find out they were adopted but had been told otherwise.
We support families in talking to their children about their adoption stories and histories at age appropriate levels. This can be different for each and every child and there is no set time or way to talk to children about their adoption story. However, there are many helpful tools available to help in the process. Call our office and we will be happy to speak with you about resources available in our library.
